With over sixty years’ experience, Dixie Precast strives to exceed our mission statement daily. Dixie Precast designs, engineers, and manufactures all types of precast concrete and galvanized steel foundations used throughout the railroad industry. In addition to our line of foundations, Dixie Precast also offers both galvanized steel and precast concrete retaining wall systems. All of our products offer labor and material cost savings while meeting or exceeding current AREMA Standards.

Company History
Dixie Precast, Inc. was established in 1962 as a manufacturer of architectural and structural precast concrete. After ten years in business, Dixie Precast, at the request of Southern Railway (predecessor of present day Norfolk Southern), developed a line of precast concrete foundations for railroad signals. The foundations that were found to be of a higher quality than other available products. Due to the quality workmanship and economical cost, by 1975, Dixie was the sole supplier to Southern Railway and the Seaboard Coast Line (predecessor of CSX). Dixie quickly became the sole foundation supplier to Conrail system. We were the only foundation supplier to earn the Conrail Certified Quality Supplier Program certification.

In 1982, Dixie Precast developed a revolutionary design for a “low profile” Foundation. This design was reviewed and established as the standard design by the Association of American Railroads.

Dixie Precast currently supplies to all Class 1’s throughout the United States and Canada. Our products are utilized on many Short Lines as well as numerous Light Rail and Transit Agencies throughout North America. In addition, our foundation design has been proven as an effective solution for projects under the governance of the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
